Abstarct: Abstract The phenomenon of dynamic shear intensification in shear walls has been studied since the 1970s. Studying the related recommendations of structural researchers and the provisions of various seismic codes shows that there is no consensus regarding the amount of shear intensification and distribution between the laxyers of the structure. Performance-baxsed seismic engineering has brought new dimensions to the design of tall buildings, which has led to major changes in the values used in the approach baxsed on linear analyses prescribed by the regulations used. Considering that one of the most widely used analytical methods recommended by the world's famous codes, including the American Concrete Code (ACI 318-19) for the analysis of the forces acting on tall structures, is the spectral dynamic method. For this purpose, a 3D model of a high-rise building with residential use and a dual structural system of bending frxame and reinforced concrete shear wall with 35 floors, located in an area with a high relative risk of earthquakes and soil type 3 according to Iran's 2800 regulations, first in the software Etabs-V20 was modeled and the shear forces acting on the shear walls were extracted by spectral dynamic analysis method. Then, another three-dimensional model was modeled by considering the same specifications in Perform3D-V8 software in a non-linear way and using plastic joints according to the code of seismic evaluation and retrofitting of existing buildings of America (ASCE41-17) and time history analysis Non-linearity was done by considering two groups of seismic records near and far from the fault, according to the recommendations of the US Building Seismic Improvement Guide (FEMA-P695) to obtain a response close to the reality of the structure. The results of the analyses performed as an example to obtain shear resonance values of shear walls were compared and analyzed. baxsed on the results of 14 non-linear analyses, it was shown that the value related to the shear resonance for the box-couple shear wall used in the structural system of the assumed building, at the baxse level, caused a 76% increase in the seismic demand when measured with the acceleration map. are close to the fault and 34% for measuring with the acceleration of maps far from the fault. This is while the value recommended for the use of linear analysis by the American Concrete Code (ACI 318-19) indicates a 300% increase in shear demand for the studied building at the baxse level. The reason for investigating the shear intensification at the level of the baxse of the wall is to investigate this phenomenon at the location of the critical section according to the definitions of the American Concrete Code (ACI318-19). baxsed on the results found, the value of the dynamic shear stress recommended by this guideline for use on box-coupling walls has been conservatively determined.
